Delete Your Account & Data

    You can delete your Moondis account and the personal data associated with it at any time. The fastest way is from inside the Moondis Android app. If you no longer have access to the app, you can request deletion by email — both options are described below.
  

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (fastest)

Open the Moondis app on your Android device.

Open the side menu and tap Settings.

Tap Account.

Tap Delete Account and confirm the action when prompted.

Your account and personal data are scheduled for deletion immediately. You will be signed out and the account will no longer be searchable by other users.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

If you can no longer sign in or have uninstalled the app, send an email to [email protected] from the email address associated with your account, including:

The subject line "Delete my Moondis account"
The display name shown on your Moondis profile (if you remember it)
Optional: the date you created the account, to help us locate it

We will respond within 30 days to confirm that your account has been deleted, or to ask follow-up questions if we cannot identify the account from the information provided.

What is deleted

When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed from our servers, typically within 30 days of the request:

Chat messages you sent	Removed from your view; copies retained in the recipient's conversation remain visible to them until they also delete
Posts, comments, and reactions in the community feed	Deleted
Uploaded photos and avatar images	Deleted from object storage
Vocabulary progress, game scores, learning streaks	Deleted
AI tutor conversation history	Deleted
Firebase authentication record	Deleted (you will need to sign up again to use Moondis in the future)
Push notification (FCM) tokens	Deleted

What may be retained

A small amount of information may be retained for the reasons described below. This data is not used to identify you in the app and is not shared with third parties.

Abuse and safety records — if your account was reported, banned, or otherwise involved in a safety incident, we may retain a record of that incident (an internal ID, reason, and timestamp) for up to 3 years to prevent the same person from creating a new account and to protect other users.
Payment records — if you had a Moondis Pro subscription, billing records (transaction ID, amount, date) are retained for 10 years to comply with tax and accounting law.
Backups — encrypted backups may contain your data for up to 30 days after deletion before being overwritten.
Aggregated analytics — anonymised statistics that cannot identify you (e.g. total daily active users) are not deleted.

Subscriptions

Deleting your Moondis account does not automatically cancel any active Moondis Pro subscription billed through Google Play. To stop recurring billing, please cancel the subscription separately from your Google Play account settings before deleting your account, or contact us at [email protected] for assistance.

Your other rights

Beyond account deletion, you also have the right to access, correct, restrict, and export your personal data, and to object to certain processing activities. These rights and how to exercise them are described in our Privacy Policy.
