    These Terms govern your use of the Moondis mobile application and website. By creating an account or using Moondis, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. Who We Are

Moondis ("we", "us", "our") provides a language exchange platform that connects people who want to learn each other's languages. The service is delivered through the Moondis Android app and the website at www.moondis.com. For general questions, contact us at [email protected].

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/EEA) to create an account.
You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement in your country.
You may not use Moondis if you are subject to sanctions or are otherwise prohibited by law from receiving the service.

3. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must provide accurate information when creating your profile and keep it up to date.
One person, one account. You may not create multiple accounts to evade bans or impersonate other users.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account inside the app, or by emailing [email protected]. See our Data Deletion page.

4. Acceptable Use

When using Moondis, you agree not to:

Harass, threaten, stalk, or abuse other users.
Post or share content that is illegal, sexually explicit, hateful, or that promotes violence.
Send unsolicited commercial messages, spam, or scams.
Solicit personal information from minors, or share content that exploits minors.
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
Use Moondis to recruit users to off-platform services (dating, escort, financial, MLM, etc.).
Reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or otherwise interfere with the service or its infrastructure.
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts or to our systems.

Violations may result in warnings, content removal, suspension, or permanent account termination at our discretion.

5. Community Guidelines

Be respectful. Moondis is built around real conversations with strangers — treat your language partners the way you would want to be treated.
Stay on topic. The service exists to help people learn languages. Avoid using it as a general dating or marketplace platform.
Report problems. Use the in-app Report and Block tools when you encounter behaviour that violates these guidelines.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you post on Moondis (profile photos, bio, community posts, comments, messages). By posting content, you grant Moondis a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and improve the service.

This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where retention is required for safety, legal, or technical reasons.
You represent that you have all rights necessary to post the content you upload, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights.
We may remove content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines without notice.

7. Moondis Pro & Billing

Moondis Pro is an optional paid subscription that unlocks unlimited AI tutoring, advanced analytics, and other premium features.
Subscriptions are processed by Google Play Billing on Android or Stripe on the web. Their respective terms apply to the payment transaction.
Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date.
You can manage or cancel your subscription from your Google Play account settings (Android) or by contacting [email protected].
Refunds are handled according to the policy of the payment provider you used. We may, at our discretion, issue refunds outside that policy in exceptional cases.
Prices and features may change. We will notify Pro subscribers in advance of any material change to pricing or included features.

8. Third-Party Services

Moondis relies on third-party services to deliver its features:

Firebase (Google) — authentication and push notifications.
Agora — real-time voice and video calls and audio rooms.
Google Gemini — AI tutor responses.
Google Play Billing and Stripe — payments.

Your use of these features is also subject to the providers' own terms and privacy policies, as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Termination

You may stop using Moondis at any time and delete your account from inside the app.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, abuse other users, or harm the integrity of the service. We will use reasonable efforts to notify you and explain the reason, except where doing so would compromise an investigation or safety concern.
On termination, your right to access the service ends immediately. Some data may be retained as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimers

Moondis is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Moondis is a platform for users to connect with one another. We do not verify the identity, claims, or conduct of users and are not responsible for the actions of any user. Use good judgement when interacting with strangers, especially before meeting anyone in person.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Moondis is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or EUR 50, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, liability for gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or statutory consumer rights).

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Austria, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts of Vienna, Austria, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of Moondis after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
